Working Groups
FEHRL Working Groups (WGs) play a crucial role in achieving the FEHRL Mission by fostering collaboration among staff from FEHRL member institutes. These WGs provide a platform for experts in specific research areas to directly collaborate under the FEHRL umbrella, enhancing internal cooperation and engagement.
While Research Committee members serve as contact points for their institutes, the WGs enable broader participation and direct collaboration among experts. This new approach supports the FEHRL mission by involving more members in research activities and providing a structured framework for collaboration.
The WGs also serve as effective links for cooperation with external partners and stakeholders, ensuring alignment between visionary research (handled by FOREX & FOREX+) and practical implementation. Each WG is led by a Research Committee member elected by the committee, and a co-leader from FOREX elected by FOREX. These leaders coordinate the group's activities, manage internal and external business, and may advise the Research Committee, FEHRL board, or General Assembly.
Core group members of the WGs, drawn from the Research Committee or FOREX, contribute actively to internal objectives such as self-funded projects, roadmap drafting, and research call responses. Additionally, experts from the broader FEHRL community can join WGs throughout their duration. When appropriate, members of FOREX+ and external partners or stakeholders, such as those from the European Construction Technology Platform, EUPAVE, CEDR, or PIARC, are invited to contribute to specific agenda items on an ad-hoc basis.
