Description

Short technical description: Field measurement of the residual bearing capacity of a flexible pavement (dynamic measurement every 5 m, at a speed of 18 km/h). The device consists of a lorry with a very long frame, the rear axle of which is loaded to weigh 13 t (this can be reduced to 8 t). Every 5 m, a sensor attached to a caterpillar measures the temporary deflection of the pavement when the rear axle is passing over. The deflection bowl is measured over a length of 4 m. Precision of measurement: 0.02 mm. Méthod of measurement: CME 54.26 (catalogue of measurements of the Walloon Region of Belgium). Construction date: 1994 Specified type of facility: Pavement condition
