Description
Short technical description: Field measurement of the rolling resistance of road pavements. Rolling resistance is the resistance met by vehicles and tyres travelling on a road pavement. Fuel consumption and consequent CO2 emissions are closely connected with it. The measuring device was designed as a "quarter vehicle" with a shock absorber, and is towed by a measuring vehicle. It is fitted with a smooth tyre to exclude any influence from tyre tread, but other types of tyre can be used as well. The equipment is in the stage of validation. Unique features: http://www.brrc.be
