Description
Short technical description: Laboratory measurement of the resistance to low-temperature cracking of bituminous binders. Determination of the isomodulus temperature at which the bending stiffness modulus, S, of the binder is 300 MPa, and of the critical temperature at which m = 0.300. A small beam of bitumen is immersed in a bath kept at the required temperature. A load (100 g) is applied for 240 s. The stiffness modulus of the binder is calculated from the geometry of the beam, the load applied, and the deflection measured.
