Description
Short technical description: 1) Laboratory measurement of the stiffness modulus of bituminous mixtures. 2) Laboratory measurement of the resistance to fatigue cracking of bituminous mixtures. This test makes it possible, on the one hand, to determine the number of cycles to failure under a given stress and, on the other, to measure the variation of the complex modulus with temperature and frequency. Trapezoidal specimens sampled from the road or prepared in the laboratory are placed in a thermostatically controlled chamber. They are fixed at their long bases and loaded in bending using an electromagnetic vibrator. The force applied is a sinusoidal function of time, and constant in amplitude. Relevant standard: NBN EN 12697-24.
