Description

Short technical description: The LCPC centrifuge is a national research and developement facility. This tool can be used for tests on small-scale models under high gravities. Thanks to the centrifuge acceleration, the mechanical scaling laws are met. The results and data obtained on the centrifuge model can be converted to the full-scale structure. A robot has been added in 1998 allowing to performed different operations on the model without stopping the centrifuge. An earthquake simulator is being installed and will be in operation in 2004.
