New KTI Director joins FEHRL General Assembly (FGA)

Dr. Zoltán Vereczkey appointed Director of FEHRL member KTI in Hungary in February 2014 and also joins FGA.

 

Dr. Zoltán Vereczkey was appointed last February as Director of KTI (Institute for Transport Sciences Non-Profit Ltd.) in Budapest, following his service since 2013 as Transport Professional Training director at KTI.

In 1976, Dr. Vereczkey obtained his Transport Engineering Diploma from the Transport and Telecommunication Technical College in Gyr and subsequently, in 1985, he became Dr. Jurist of Janus Pannnius University in Pécs. He spent most of his career in VOLÁN (a Hungarian passenger-transporting company), from 1999 to 2002 as its General Director. In 2000, he was elected Vice-President of the Hungarian Trade and Industrial Chamber.

In 2002 he was awarded the Baross Gábor prize by the Minister of Transport. His activity in the field of road transport was awarded the prize of “Man of the Year in Transport” in 2011. This new Director is committed to the modernisation of the only state-owned transport institute in Hungary in these challenging years and hopes to also continue the fruitful cooperation with FEHRL.
