9th international research conference "Horizons of Railway Transport 2017"held on 21st-22nd September in Strečno (Slovakia)

The SKILLFUL project was presented at the 9th international research conference "Horizons of Railway Transport 2017", which was held on 21st-22nd September in Strečno (Slovakia). The audience gained more information on the content of the project, its aims, planned impacts and the already achieved results within the special session dedicated to the presentation of the H2020 projects.

The main theme of this year's conference was "Competent human resources as a potential for providing the comprehensive and sustainable rail transport services". The event also included operational and technological issues focused on management and marketing in the rail transport. The topic emphasised the need to create a common, interoperable and harmonised European rail area of the EU. Its creation should be supported by innovations and research cooperation. The conference was as usual organised by the University of Žilina under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic. It was attended by 70 experts from 5 EU and non-EU countries from academic and commercial sector.
