From 1st December 2012 all TRL published reports will be free to download from the TRL website. This includes all those reports in the historical series collections dating back more than 40 years.

There is a widespread trend for publications and reports of all kinds to be freely available on the internet, and this trend is likely to accelerate in the coming years. This also reflects the increasing number of requests from different funding bodies that reports made are freely available. 

The European Commission has encouraged the trend for ‘open access’ which will become a key element of future EU programmes.  FEHRL has developed links to numerous information repositories (including TRL’s) and will continue to develop this a part of our Knowledge Transfer strategy.
