On 26 June 2009, FEHRL organized a workshop on secondary road infrastructure management. The workshop titled “Pilot initiative for a common curriculum for road safety experts: training and application on secondary roads” aims to provide regional authorities with the tools to apply the principles of the Directive 2008/96/CE on road infrastructure safety management on their road networks.

The pilot initiative will be developed in two different phases. The first will organize the curricula and tools and will develop the first trial “on the field”. The second phase will enlarge the Initiative to more EU regions, foreseeing local training and further trails on the field. About 20 people attended the workshop including representatives of some regional authorities in Europe.
